Sculptor and Filmmaker
•DANIT is a German sculptor who lives in Berlin. She works mainly with stone and wood. Poetic works are also part of her oeuvre. Her works are shown in exhibitions, galleries, public spaces and at art fairs. Danit's figures are stylistically characterised by expressive and hybrid forms. They are powerful and sensual with flowing transitions between forms. The sculptures contain narrative and poetic elements. They reflect a deep connection between energy, history and emotional narrative, which is typical of Danit's artistic style. Filmmaker
Her art films combine poetry and visual storytelling.She began working on her first film projects for art installations in 2014. Danit's film ‘Thoughts of a Sculptor’ is an artistic film that portrays the experience of creating a work of art and addresses the significance of art in space. The film is about places where art is displayed and how this influences the perception of people who engage with art and space. The poetic framework is provided by a poem by Danit, which she herself narrated for the film. In other art films, poetic texts are made visually tangible.
Other films are part of a multimodal approach that focuses on conversations with women and the representation of female utopias and realities. The project DIALOGUA (2020-2023) moves between biology, social construction, reality and idealisation to explore the essence of femininity.
